Meet the Artist

I love to paint from a feeling. My art is a conversation of my inner world with the viewer’s and speaks directly to their heart. It is a form of visual poetry that communicates with colour and line rather than words. I strive to capture the various facets of joy to uplift my collectors and infuse their homes with harmony and a sense of playfulness.

Trusting in Joy - Scarlett’s Journey

Scarlett Meyer was born in the heart of Germany, in a small village surrounded by fields and meadows. Her first dream was to be a painter and she spent many childhood hours engaged with her pencils and crayons. Even then she liked to explore colour relationships and abstract patterns. Drawing was one of various creative hobbies and stayed with her during her musical endeavours and writing practise. She always had the urge to create and learn how to paint. After taking several art classes, she discovered Milan Art Institute, where she attended the Mastery Program to sharpen her skills and develop her own voice as an artist. This also inspired her to pursue a career in art, following her early childhood dream. After having taught language and literature for several years, Scarlett finally dared to trust in the things which bring her the most joy, painting being the most intuitive, heartfelt and rewarding way to spend her time.

Her vision as an artist is to inspire those who see her art to follow their own dreams and to keep pursuing those aspects of their life that bring them the most joy. Her subject matter speaks to the power of emotions, to remind us all that we are meant to live lives full of inspiration, playfulness and joy and that there is magic in trusting your feelings.  Scarlett’s motto is:

“Trust in joy. It will lead you where you are meant to be.”

Her home studio is set in the German monastery of Maulbronn, a place that instills a sense of serenity. She lives and works in one of the old and picturesque houses of the monastic community. This she finds to be both humbling and inspiring, as it also creates the sentiment that there is something worth living for that is greater than yourself. She is curious and excited to see where this creative journey will take her. As her art is a form of poetry and with her background in the study of literature, one of her goals is to explore the relationship between visual art and writing in more depth.
